St. George (Part 1)

Rory graduated from BYU. He got accepted to the graduate program at Texas State. He got offered an assistantship position. He passed the BOC exam. And I... well, I quit my job. To celebrate all that (and our one year anniversary!), we took a much needed vacation to St. George! Grant and Granny were kind enough to let us stay in their casita (a BIG thank you to them!). Here are some pictures from our adventure down by the Virgin River.
I love the landscape of southern Utah.

The river was actually pretty deep in the middle- must be all the rain this spring.

This is the golf course behind Grant and Granny's house. Rory spent 90% of the time he golfed being frustrated. He claims that's part of what makes golf so great. I don't understand it, but I'm glad he had fun(?)

This was not the picture I mant to upload, but I'm way too frustrated with blogger to figure out how to change it and put the new one in this spot. Anyway, here's Rory throwing water while playing in the river.

*More on St. George to come later.

Sports Photography

Those of you that know my husband know that he loves basketball. It's probably unhealthy how much he enjoys the sport. However, I benefited from his recent intramural tournament by practicing some sports photography; an area of photography that I have zero experience in.

After an initial struggle to try and figure out the lighting (the courts are terribly lit), I really started to enjoy myself! Here's what I came up with!

Aimee & Cami

I had an outdoor photo shoot scheduled with sisters, Aimee and Cami. So of course it rained! Despite the dreary rain and chilly temperature, we braved down town SLC. Aimee and Cami were so upbeat and fun even though the inclement weather meant ruined hair and constant shivers. Above are just some of the pictures I got from the shoot. Thanks for letting me be your photographer, girls!

I Could Be

Today is my day off. I could be:

-Harassing the insurance company of the guy with the truck who backed into my car to solidify the claim. I'm not.
-Taking pictures to submit to stock photo agencies. I'm not.
-Folding the last load of laundry. I'm not.
-Listing new recipes to try. I'm not.
-Editing some of the billions of pictures I want to edit. I'm not.
-I could even be sleeping in an effort to rid myself of the (yet another) cold I've contracted. I'm not.
